Simon Western, PhD
Simons PhD was in leadership and he worked at the Strategic Leadership Unit at Lancaster University Management School before becoming the Director of Coaching. At the Tavistock Clinic he has led the MA in Organisational Consultancy which takes a psychoanalytic perspective. He has also taught leadership and coaching at leading business schools including McGill University, the Institute of Management Bangalore and Lancaster University UK.
Simon works with senior leaders in organisations such as Astra Zeneca, Basell, Gaz de France, Gap Inc. USA, NHS Chief Executives, International Red Crescent/Cross (Sudan) & U.N. (Kosovo), London Business School, the global OD team in a leading bank, the leaders of a hi-tech SME and with leaders in the educational sector. His consultancy is a mixture of ethnographic observation that he uses to inform insightful, experiential learning designs. He uses architecture, art and the natural environment in his work in order to help participants to locate themselves and to support creative learning.
His current focus is to develop a new paradigm of leadership in organisations that addresses the contemporary challenges of the digitalised workplace and network society.
