Senior Researcher / Consultant

Mónica Velarde

I joined the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations (TIHR) as Senior Consultant and Researcher in 2009. My primary interest is in the relation of corporate social responsibility and business sustainability through innovation management and team/ organizational leadership development in trans-cultural strategic transformation. I am a doctorate candidate at the Tavistock Clinic and East London University.

My work is grounded in systemic thinking with a holistic understanding of organisations as living systems and communities. My passion is in bringing together different parts of an organisational system to interact with its wider community and consider its impact on its wider ecological environment. I have a particular expertise in creating spaces for dialogues between native communities with their respective Health and Energy private and public sector organisations in order to promote learning organisations that are inclusive and loyal to their primary purpose.

As a management coach I challenge managers to innovate with their clients by transforming through actions and the complex dynamics of their organizational life. I aim to inspire meaning and spirit through creative strategies. My coaching clients come from private, public and native American-Indian communities sectors.

In addition to my TIHR identity, I am a member of faculty of the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas and of Esan University Business School. Holding a leading position as Director of Group Relations Programmes in these institutions continues to enrich my professional practice.

My work is based on Tavistock Institute traditions including the Group Relations, systemic and psychodynamic approaches and on my past work as Founder and Director of T-Consult Peru, a research based consultancy working with latest tendencies in Management, Leadership and Human Resources Strategies.
