Matt Gieve

Matt joined the Tavistock Institute in September 2008 and is a researcher. He supports and contributes to research projects, the implementation of fieldwork, and in-house business activities

Matt previously worked at Transparency International (UK) where contributed a report into accountability and transparency within the European Union budget. Prior to this role he completed an internship at The Young Foundation and worked as a researcher for a book on global corruption. Through these roles he was able to develop his research techniques and gain knowledge of a diverse range of subjects including local, national and supranational governance structures.

Matt’s understanding of research methods has come both from his academic and professional roles. He has written reports, designed and conducted interviews, conducted desk based research tasks, literature reviews, and survey analysis.

He has a strong interest in issues relating to mental health, stemming from his postgraduate degree in psychoanalytic theory and his other areas of interest include social inclusion, education policy, and political transparency.
