Professional Development

Underlying all of our work is a commitment to learning and development, and to dissemination. We offer the following professional development opportunities:

Workshop to be led by Dr Amy L Fraher addressing the unique group dynamics encountered by High-Risk teams working in fields such as the police, firefighters, military, medicine, aviation, emergency planning etc. Taking place Tuesday, 16 November for £35 (Early bird fee) with a social event afterwards. Group Relations conferences include our key conference, the international Leicester Conference: Authority, Role & Organisation, held annually in April/May at the University of Leicester since 1957. Group relations significantly influences leadership and strategy development in groups, organisations, communities and society. We also run and support group relations conferences around the world and can offer a tailored group relations conference for your group or organisation: www.grouprelations.com and see right for ‘What is a group relations conference?’

The Practitioner Certificate in Consulting and Change (P3C), delivered in 5 residential modules is an annual programme accredited by the Tavistock Institute which develops and deepens consulting and change management practices. Taking application now for November 2010 start.

A certificated modular course in Coaching for Leadership and Professional Development designed for experienced coaches, and other professionals whose role requires coaching competence. This course is always over-subscribed - we recommend early application.

Work Study Groups: consist of 6-10 people who meet regularly to explore their own and others' issues in different work settings. The group uses a consultancy model based on experiential learning (learning through experience). They are designed for people who are facing change or challenges in their organisation.

MSc in Leading Public Service Change and Organisational Development is an intensive and innovative residential programme of developmental education which is designed and delivered by the University of Birmingham in collaboration with the Tavistock Institute.

Online Bion Reading Group and Dreaming Matrix, is a online reading group and dreaming matrix offered in collaboration the Centre for Socio-Analysis (Australia), T-Consult (Peru) and The Tavistock Institute. Download a brochure.

We also provide bespoke leadership development programmes; each of these is designed specifically to meet the requirements of the particular organisational client, which we may either deliver or enable them to deliver.

And we offer tailored individual and team coaching to members of organisations bringing our whole-systems perspective to all of our work.
