Practitioner Certificate in Consulting and Change P3C

A Tavistock Institute of Human Relations accredited professional development programme in 5 residential modules.

Starting in November 2010, we will again offer the successful Practitioner Certificate in Consulting and Change (P3C) programme. This exciting 12 month programme draws on classic and contemporary Tavistock expertise in individual learning, group development and organisation change. It offers a professional development opportunity for consultants, leaders and professionals looking to develop their consulting and change management practices and shape their presence.

Who is this for?

  • You are one of a group of international participants looking to gain further practical skills, theoretical confidence, and authoritative presence.
  • You learn best with others by conceptualising your experiences, giving and receiving feedback and working on stubborn issues and practice needs.
  • You expect to collaborate with staff and participants to craft the learning environment and programme content and to analyse tasks and processes as a live example of the typical challenges encountered in working with organisation change.
  • You are looking for relevant theoretical frameworks to help you understand your experiences and inform your interventions.
  • You already work with unconscious and hidden dynamics - and are sometimes caught by them.
  • You need to be challenged in order to renew your professional identity.

You will work with concepts and theories from the three Tavistock Anthologies (The Socio Psychological Perspective, The Socio Technical Perspective, and The Socio Ecological Perspective) and draw on a range of contemporary narratives to (1) analyse behaviours in organisational systems under going change and (2) design developmental interventions for individuals, groups and organisations.

The programme is lead by Sue Whittle PhD. and Karen Izod MA Editors of ‘Mind-ful Consulting’ an anthology of practice-based stories from an international field of organisational consultation and change. Sue was Core Faculty on the TIHR's Master's Programme in Advanced Organisational Change and Consulting, and Karen is Co-Director of the TIHR Coaching for Leadership and Professional Development Programme.

The deadline for submitting applications is 14th September 2010. Places are limited, so we do recommend that applications are made as early as possible.

If you are intrigued by the prospect of shaping a new programme which combines classic Tavistock Institute domains with new ideas about mind-ful practice, please contact Sam Nightingale, for an application form or more information on +44 020 7457 3948 or email s.nightingale@tavinstitute.org

Sam works at the Tavistock Institute two days per week.
