Our Work
Research
How do you find effective answers to the challenges of partnership, cross-organisational and inter-cultural working?
This is what we do in our research. We have an international team of researchers who help clients to address these and similar questions. They draw on a range of disciplines, theoretical frameworks and research approaches. And we often team up with associates and international partners with complementary skills, disciplines and languages.
With you, not to you
We are particularly committed to research that contributes to practical answers to contemporary problems. And we want to help organisations develop their own research and evaluation capacity. This way of working is underpinned by our long tradition of addressing complex organisational dynamics, and of viewing research and consultancy as something done with, rather than to, others.
How we work
Our researchers work closely with their consultancy colleagues, and many of us work in both consultancy and research. We use theory and methods drawn from the social sciences to help individuals, groups and organisations find creative solutions to the challenges they face. Our projects include evaluation, action research and applied research for clients in a range of sectors. In each of these sections you will find examples of the work we have done.
Featured Case Study
Evaluating Science and Society
The aim of this project, which ran from 2006 to 2007 and was commissioned by the Office of Science and Technology (OST) (now the Office of Science and Innovation) in association with the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), was to produce an evaluation framework for evaluating 'science and society' initiatives.
