Notes from Festival Social Dreaming Matrices #3: Thurs 19 Oct 2017

Thursday 19th October 10.30-11.45, Wellcome Collection Reading Room
Hosts: Tim Dartington and Mira Erlich- Ginor

Context:
There were about 30 participants with a 1 to 10 male female ratio mixed ages and a variety of accents of people from different countries. 9 dreams were offered to the matrix.

Content:

An early theme had to do with danger, with choosing to go towards danger, venturing out and then of pulling back from the threat. There was walking on the roof of a church , there were multi layered/belonging dreams, bed  clothes being rearranged. Later dreams included children with a theme of protection  and/or deprivation leading to a dream where a child is seen to fall down a well then is discovered to have been caught safely by a man. This good ending was a surprise to the matrix and led to a number of associations about smiling with children and responding to them. In the sequence of matrices during the week this session  seemed to end with more hope than before.
