Shirley Russell

Shirley Russell has been a researcher for nine years, five of which were with the Tavistock Institute undertaking a range of evaluations.

Shirley has particular experience of research in health and offender related projects. She has enjoyed working on a range of evaluations for the Tavistock Institute including projects with the British Heart Foundation, the Prison Services, the Big Lottery and various local authorities. She has a particular interest in health-related projects and offender management.

Prior to her research career, she was an administrator in local government for 16 years, working in the Social Services department and with the Police Community Consultative Committee. More recently, she has been a researcher at London Probation undertaking qualitative research into a range of offender programmes.

She is currently a freelance researcher and Associate Researcher at the Tavistock Institute.
