The evaluation framework was intended to secure British Library Research and Innovation Centre’s (BLRIC) continued position in promoting research and innovation in the library community.

It is based on systematic review procedures at every stage in the research process (at project, programme and Centre level), buttressed by routine ex post evaluation. The framework stresses the need to maintain conventional procedures for ensuring and maintaining intellectual quality and rigour, while introducing new measures which focus on engagement and impact.
