Engagement Officer
Maria is no longer an active staff member.

I am a researcher, curator, and an art writer specialising in gender and queer theory. At the Tavistock Institute, I curated exhibitions, oversaw PR and engagement activities, coordinated our ever-popular Lunchtime Talk series, and managed the website. I was part of the Deepening Creative Practice with Organisations, where I supported (and challenged) participants in expanding the boundaries of art and social science. I also directed our Artist-in-Residence 2023 programme.

I am a published scholar, exploring critical post-humanities, the history of sexuality, and queer ecologies. My book chapter on a post-humanist perspective on asexuality will be published by Routledge in 2024. I completed my BA at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts, London, and my MA at Goldsmiths, University of London. In 2022, I was awarded a Fulbright Graduate Award 2023-2024, allowing me to continue my boundary-breaking research at The New School for Social Research in New York.
