Dr Martin Powell has worked in healthcare for almost 30 years, initially as a paramedic before moving into Specialist Palliative Care in 2008.

Martin has held senior management positions in 4 charitable hospices and is currently Chief Executive at St Peter & St James Hospice.

Martin’s PhD study explored resilience in the inpatient nursing workforce using Participatory Action Research. He is interested in the relationships between individuals and organisations, and how this influences capacity to face challenges.
