Leadership and People Management

Leadership and People Management

‘Leadership and People Management’ is an ongoing professional development collaboration between King’s College and TIHR.

Leadership and People Management is a collaboration between King’s College and TIHR.

Sophocles said: ‘One must learn by doing the thing, for though you think you know it – you have no certainty, until you try.’

Following the success of the Leadership and people management‘ course delivered in 2016, 2017 and 2018, King’s is  re-offering this intensive programme which blends expert academic and practitioner input, including an in-depth experiential workshop directed by the Tavistock Institute, the country’s leading institution in developing and supporting organisational leadership in an applied and practical way.  Course participants learn, apply, participate and reflect on the principles and lived experience of leadership, both in the sessions themselves and then through an individual work-related project, supported by a coach. A final autumn session combines a certificate ceremony with an opportunity to present, network and re-cap.

It is an opportunity for mid-career professionals taking on new challenges, keen to underpin their practice with relevant theory and new practices. The Tavistock Institute contribution, led by Anne Benson and Juliet Scott, allows participants to work with the challenges and dynamics of a practice dilemma in a simulation based on cases brought to us in our coaching and consultancy work.

The course will take place on 6, 7, 10, 11th June 2019 in London with a certificate ceremony on 28th October 2019.
