A new partnership delivering a 4-module certificated programme in the Dynamics of Leadership & Consulting.

We are delighted to announce the formation of a new partnership with TILT – The Institute for Leadership and Transformation and The Gordon Institute of Business Science to offer a new certificated programme on the Dynamics of Leadership & Consulting for the whole of Southern Africa.

The programme is based at the Gordon Institute of Business Science in Johannesburg and begins in October 2018.  It is designed for senior organisational leaders, executives & managers, organisational consultants, coaches & mentors who wish to deepen their knowledge, understanding and engagement with the dynamics of systems leadership.

The programme consists of four modules over ten months.  Modules 1, 2 and 3 are also available as stand-alone (they can be taken in successive years or they can be completed in one year). To gain the certificate, Module 4 is only available to participants completing Modules 1, 2 and 3.

Module details can be seen here.

Leaders, who often occupy lonely positions, to understand and manage powerful resistances, fears and desires in their organisations. Leaders often sense the need for external assistance to deal with the complex and fraught dynamics in their organisations, many of which are incomprehensible if not viewed through the lens of hidden, sometimes unconscious, drivers of human behaviour and how these are amplified in organisational systems.

The programme is designed to help participants conceptualize and experience organisations as systems and make sense of the dynamics of learning, leadership, consultancy and change. The programme will incorporate a study of the theories of psychoanalysis, open systems, group relations, socio-technical systems, complexity theory and the practice of organisational role consultation. Learning will also derive from the here-and-now experiences of the programme itself, including dreams as a means of understanding social and organisational phenomena. There will be ample opportunity through the use of Action Learning Sets for presentations of participants’ own case material.
