 About Mariana Moura:

Mariana Moura finds her roots in Recife, Brazil. She has been married to Nicola for almost 20 years and is the proud mom to Anita, 17, and Olivia, 14. Living in a house that boasts views of the ocean and is surrounded by a coconut grove, just as you might imagine living in a tropical country would be.

Mariana is an organizational consultant who delves into the intricate world of family businesses. She is a board member at Moura Batteries, the company owned by her family, where she also leads the family council. Mariana is also an independent board member of a hotel group. With a background that spans a Law degree, a master’s from INSEAD, and a Doctorate from the University of Essex in collaboration with The Tavistock NHS Foundation, Mariana focuses on organizational dynamics. She has also shared her expertise through her book, “Supergovernance: A Broad Look at the Challenges of Family Businesses.”

Fun fact:

Mariana’s attempt at sharing a “fun fact” about herself turned into an unexpected adventure. She realized, with a touch of anxiety, that her humor doesn’t exactly dance to the tune of British wit. This realization brought a smile, reminding her that while she might navigate the complex terrains of family business with ease, navigating the nuances of humor is a journey of its own. So, don’t expect her jokes to make you laugh; remember, it’s not you—it’s her uniquely non-British sense of humor at play.
