Lucian is a highly experienced board chair, corporate and civil society leader and strategic communications specialist. He has been Chair of Council, Tavistock Institute of Human Relations since 2021, and was Chair between 2003 and 2007. He is a Tavistock Institute trained consultant and executive coach, and an accredited mediator.

Lucian has a track record in managing crisis and disruption, delivering change in 7 large, complex organisations. With 43 years of professional experience at the heart of decision making in government, media and higher education (1), he has held senior corporate leadership roles since 2000, including at Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Ministry of Justice, Cabinet Office (2), Durham University, The Open University and University of Oxford.

Lucian served 17 years as a journalist and senior executive at BBC and ITV. He has been a charity board chair since 1997.
